Please join us for a bit of Hocus Pocus on Sunday October 16th for our annual HOWL at the Oak Grove Pavilion at the Brecksville Metroparks. Ticket price is $20/pp.

Our Spooktacular event will begin at 10 am and go until 1:00 pm.  A ton of frightful fun is planned- we will have breakfast, a costume contest, raffle baskets, and Portraits by Martha will be there to take photos of your pooch!  This event is open to the public and all dog-friendly dogs are welcome.  (all dogs must be on a leash, no flexi’s please).  Registration is open now and can be accessed here.  This is our last park event of the year so don’t miss out on the fun!

As many of you know GRIN’s love of golden retrievers truly “has no borders” and we have been lucky to be involved in efforts to rescue dogs internationally.  Funds raised from this year’s HOWL will go to help offset the cost and care for Violet, around a 3 year old red golden who was rescued from the meat trade in China.  She is set to arrive in the US at the end of this month where she will be seen by our partner vet and head to foster care.

We have several options available to help support Violet in her journey to a new life here in the US:

$500- The Great Pumpkin

$250- Haunted House

$100- Pumpkin Patch

$50- Wicked Witch

$25-Jack O Lantern

$15 Ghouls & Ghosts

$10 Candy Corn

$100 Doggie Ice Cream

Halloween Baskets

Unable to make the event?  No problem, you can still support Violet!  We will be selling Halloween cookie baskets for your pooch by partnering with Etsy  seller, PamperedPup Barkery and are excited to offer you and your pups two sizes of handmade delicious Halloween treat boxes for your pups.

The Large(orange) box is $35 and can be purchased by clicking HERE

The Small (black) box is $25 and can be purchased by clicking HERE

GRIN benefits from every sale. Buy some for your friends’ pups too and GRIN benefits.   The sale runs through October 22nd

NOTE: Oak Grove Pavilion is on Valley Parkway which is East off Brecksville Rd.  (Rt. 21) and if you are coming from Royalton Rd or SR 82, between Chippewa Creek & Meadows Dr.  GPS coordinates are 41.30993911, -81.60400916.

People Foods Dogs Can and Can’t Eat By AKC Staff | Apr 24, 2020 Dedicated dog lovers tend to be very kind people. We share our hearts and homes (and for some lucky pups, even the foot of our beds) with our canine pals. Surely there is nothing wrong with sharing our favorite people foods with our dogs too, right? Not necessarily. Many of the foods, such as fruits and vegetables, Read More
Over the past year GRIN has taken in an increased number of puppy mill dogs and as a result we are in need of appropriate foster/adoptive homes.  The damage done during the years in the mill can be overcome, but it takes the right environment, time and dedication. What we are looking for in a mill dog foster/adopter: a fenced yard with a traditional fence another well socialized dog Read More
If you are a GRIN member, you know we are always begging for fosters! The fact of the matter is that we have a terrific foster home base – but we always need more because unfortunately, more dogs need our help – the strays, owner relinquishments and shelter dogs. And we also are anticipating more Turkey dogs next month.   If you are a recent approved adopter, you can help us immediately! Read More

What are people saying?

Everyone at GRIN has been supportive before, during and after the adoption of our senior girl Honey. We love our GRIN family who always puts the dogs needs first and foremost!

Fostering has been a wonderful experience for me, 12 years and 56 dogs later! I like being a step in the process of moving dogs into permanent, loving homes.
