This sweet senior is a relinquishment with his brother, Barnie. Our transporter said he is adorable! He rode good on the back seat, but he needs help getting in the car. He has been on thyroid meds and is overweight. He is best on carpeted floors and has fine house manners. Bennie is good with kids and other dogs. He will make someone a wonderful, quiet companion.

Foster Update: 3/15/24
Sweet, calm, docile Bennie is doing great in his foster home with the resident dog. With the warm air, Bennie has been feeling adventurous wanting to take walks down the lane and is taking in views from the porch while enjoying a nice brushing. He has made many friends through the resident dogs’ connections and is staying social and engaged while showing his playful side. Bennie is living his life to the fullest while his foster parents are taking great care of him and keeping a watchful eye on any side effects from the mass on his spleen.

Foster Update: 1/4/24
During Bennie's follow-up visit and suture removal from the mass removal on his hind leg, he had had a significant weight loss. During his veterinary exam, a mass was found on Bennie’s spleen. While the mass is believed to be benign, surgery at Bennie’s age is not recommended due to the high risks associated with surgery. Due to this, Bennie will remain in GRIN’s care as a hospice dog. We are happy to share that Bennie will be spending the rest of his days with his beloved foster family and the resident Golden, Boomies.During Bennie's follow-up visit and suture removal from the mass removal on his hind leg, he had had a significant weight loss. Foster Update: 12/5/23
Bennie is a sweet, lovable, easy going senior who loves pets and attention. Bennie enjoys rubbing his head in the dog beds and rolling over. Full of energy, Bennie enjoys walking, chewing on toys, and going for rides in the car. While he does his own thing Bennie can surely be found lying down near you. Like most Goldens, Bennie loves food but requires a special diet as he is allergic to beef and chicken. Additionally, Bennie takes thyroid medication, but he does this with no hesitation or enticement needed. Bennie is a smart boy knowing cues and is easily redirected. Any family would be lucky to call Bennie theirs!
