GRIN tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants.

The average ages of our rescued Goldens are 6-10 years of age, however GRIN does occasionally receive younger dogs that are in need of a home.  If you are interested in adopting a young dog, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption.  Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the younger dog will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when GRIN does have younger dogs available.

Solar is a little guy that was a breeder relinquishment.  He was worried because Solar was not gaining weight and smaller than the rest of the litter, so he wanted him to get the vet care  he needed.  Solar is currently in his foster home getting treatment for giardia and we are trying to get some weight on this young guy.  He is active and loving and once he is cleared medically, he will be available for adoption soon!

Foster Update: 10/28/24

Hi everyone! Solar here.  Last week my foster mom took me to Metropolitan Veterinary Hospital for surgery. As a result, I am on another new food.  Hopefully it will help me go to the bathroom less.  I must tell you; I was quite the charmer.  Everybody loved me!

I love my foster mom and fur siblings but know that my forever home is out there. It won't be long until I celebrate my first birthday, and my wish will be for this to clear up and allow me to be adopted.  I know you aren't supposed to share wishes, but this is important.

Until next time, I will continue to run and play in the leaves.  Hope you are all having a wonderful fall.

Foster Update: 8/23/24

Solar remains in high spirits even with his ongoing diarrhea. He is the most snuggly little man who loves playing with his foster siblings. There hasn’t been a person or animal that he has met, that he hasn’t loved. His last visit with the specialist at Akron Metropolitan didn’t provide any conclusions on his condition as his ultrasound was normal. The bile acids panel also came back normal. We will be trying a new prescription dog food as well as continuing with Forti flora to get him feeling better. The next steps could be an upper and lower GI scope to see what could be causing his bowel issues for so long. He has become quite the lanky boy as he’s growing.  He is at the uncoordinated stage with the goofy run! No matter what, Solar brightens my day & is so happy just to be around everyone.

Foster Update: 6/25/24

Solar is still a little guy at 15 pounds. Solar is on a new compounded medication for giardia and gets his second dose at the end of June. Paws and fingers crossed that this will help and we can get some weight on this little guy. Solar is super playful and loves cuddling with everyone in his foster home, both two legged and four legged. Solar is crate trained. Potty training still needs some work; with the diarrhea it was difficult. Solar is an intelligent little guy and already knows several cues. Once he is cleared medically, he will be available for adoption!

Foster Update: 5/13/24

Solar is the most precious squish. He’s your typical Golden when it comes to making friends. There hasn’t been a dog, cat, or person he hasn’t loved. His favorite spot is laying on his foster mom soaking up all the cuddles and kisses. He is a dapper boy who loves to dress up & knows how handsome he as he struts his stuff. Solar already knows “sit”, “paw” and does well with his recall in the yard or through the house. He is a very intelligent boy!  He will make the best addition to any home.
