GRIN tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants.

The average ages of our rescued Goldens are 6-10 years of age, however GRIN does occasionally receive younger dogs that are in need of a home.  If you are interested in adopting a young dog, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption.  Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the younger dog will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when GRIN does have younger dogs available.

Winston is a relinquishment—his owner has health and residence changes, and has asked for our help in rehoming this nice guy. He’s sweet, good with kids, and other dogs. He has been vetted, and we were aware that he had a tumor before intake. Our vet partner removed it and feels good margins around site were  successful. He is okay with commands, walking, and has medium energy level. We’ll work to rest his previous owner’s mind and find him a perfect adopter!

Foster Update! 10/25/24

Winston is recovering from surgery and although he’s still feeling the side effects of the anesthesia and sutures, he’s settling into his foster home quite well. Often GRIN fosters need to be in a home with another dog so they can learn from the resident dog, but that’s not the case with Winston. In fact, Winston is so well-behaved his foster mom is hoping his mindful behavior will rub off on the resident dog! Winston follows cues and looks at his foster mom for direction. When his foster mom takes him out to potty, he sits up and waits to be called to head to the door. He responds immediately when asked to come back inside. He didn’t need a formal meet and greet with the resident dog because Winston just goes with the flow and the two dogs are symbiotic.

Winston appeared a bit standoffish when he first arrived at his foster home, but he was just assessing the situation. Winston likes to study his environment and spent the first couple days resting and recovering in the family room, laying near his foster mom, but by the third day he decided she had passed his test, and he now lays his head in his foster mom’s lap, follows her around the house, and enjoys being petted and loved on. Winston is a smart, loving and handsome boy who will be a great companion dog. His foster mom is looking forward to seeing how his personality develops as he starts feeling better after he’s recovered from his surgery.  Stay tuned and follow Winston’s story, a stunning boy with lots to offer a loving adopter.
