GRIN tries to make every effort to keep this page current and up to date. Please keep in mind that by the time you submit an application and are going through the approval process, some of dogs pictured below may already be in the process of meeting and being adopted by other approved applicants.

The average ages of our rescued Goldens are 6-10 years of age, however GRIN does occasionally receive younger dogs that are in need of a home.  If you are interested in adopting a young dog, please do not wait until you see one on our website to apply for adoption.  Our approval process takes approximately 2-4 weeks to complete and by the time you have been approved for adoption, the younger dog will have already been placed into a loving home. Please start the application process now so that you can be on a waiting list for when GRIN does have younger dogs available.

Foster Update: 1/31/25

Leo joined a new foster home in early December to see if having a buddy around would help release his energy — he is thrilled to have a resident dog to play and cuddle with! After an excited first few weeks full of constant playing and exploring, he is settling down more and more every day.

Leo still has LOTS of energy and will get into anything & everything, so he will need a special adopter who has the time and patience to dedicate to giving him the obedience training he needs.

Leo does already know “sit” and “shake” and is currently working on mastering “off” to correct his counter-surfing, “drop it” when he picks up socks or other belongings to turn into chew toys, and “leave it” to redirect him from those temptations.

Leo absolutely loves wrestling, running around the yard, and chasing tennis balls. But don’t mistake Leo’s high energy for an inability to snuggle up next to you and fall asleep in your lap! This sweet boy LOVES to give big kisses, hug, hold hands, and snuggle with both humans and dogs. He is a total sweetheart!

Foster Update: 12/4/24

Hi all!  Leo here submitting my resume for my furever home. I'm 2 1/2 years old, my strengths are: completely housetrained, love walks, running, playing ball, and chewing. I am also great with down time in my crate when encouraged to do so.

I’m working on a few things: I just love to play! (is that a weakness?) My foster parents are helping me learn to rein in my energy. It's tough some days, but I know I'll get there because I'm super smart (if I do say so myself). The resident cat, Cricket, doesn’t come around much, but when she does boy do I get excited!

Thanks for your interest, I can’t wait to meet you!
